When you damn yourself with nasty obesity assumptions, you're in or on the way to the snake pit, the dieter's snake pit of unhealthy dieting. Once some situation or slight triggers one of these assumptions, you feel frustrated, desperate, depressed, guilty, or angry. And, chances are you do something that further disappoints, demeans, depresses, or harms you. You wake a snake.

My overweight patients find that uncovering their nasty obesity assumptions helps their struggles to improve self-esteem.
